The gardeners of Instagram are uniting to create a most useful cookbook. The success of this project solely rides on the level of participation and contributions of the gardeners and cooks of the world, so lets get together and make this work.
We wanted to make this cookbook all about the herbs that are growing, often in wild abundance, in our gardens. Everybody has room for a herb garden even if it’s just a pot on the window ledge. Often excessive herby abundance gets wasted for sheer lack of knowing what to do with it all, so we want this cookbook to offer tasty and diverse solutions to this ‘problem’ so we can make the most of what our garden is giving us. Also, the world has such great culinary diversity and we all have a lot we can learn from each other.
We also want to know what else you may do with herbs i.e., ways of preserving, making flavoured oils, home made remedies, dyes etc.
You may enter as many recipes as you like, however say for example we receive 50 recipes for ‘rosemary baked potatoes’, well, one will be chosen. Each recipe will be made in our test kitchen, and the best will be photographed and included in the book. On our Instagram (@thehomegrowncountrylife) we will feature specific herb photos and ask for recipes as a prompt, but any herb recipe may be entered at any time.
What’s in it for you? The joy of sharing and having your contribution published of course! Also, if you give permission, your Instagram username will be included on your recipe page!
If you do fill the form out and contribute, thanks for taking the time. Once we have enough entries we will contact all contributors to keep them up to date with the progress.
